No need to answer this my friend. kaya ngani Regional Center ang Legazpi ta mas magayun buda centro kan buong Bikol. Yaon ang future international airport, arani sa Sorsogon for whale watching, arani sa Tabaco port para sa Catanduanes travel.

In one of the occasions i attended where Gov. Salceda was the keynote speaker, he reiterated na Legazpi is not competeing against Naga (sabay joke na Naga daa is mismatch hehehehe) and he said we compete with California as the benchmark.

medyo difisil simbagun ang hapot mo ta ang kagayunan baga is something intangible na dae mo masukol. pero for the sake of answering it, ang simbag ko: BICOL!!!!

manoy rod, it was jokingly stated pero the point he was stressing is that we are aiming high as far as development of the province is concern. and I think visionary as he is, mas marhay na kung ma ambition naman sana, su alangkaw na... libre baga mangarap!

I was greatly impressed with Naga on the few trips I had occasion to go there were on a days outing really to visit nice scenic landmarks like the Cathedral and the churches. I also noticed that the streets had a neat appearance with good road surfaces. Legaspi city centre is where I had more frequently visited and had time to observe more. There are a lot of buildings been renovated or construction been done which are been protected by sheets of galvanised iron to shield and prevent the public such as pedestrians from injury from above. The frontage will be stay ugly until the buildings are near completion. There was a large supermarket that had a car park which was in a dire need of repairs for years it looked as though it had not been repaired, but it does rain quite often in Bicol so soft earth and muddy potholes will get only larger and not smaller... The whole carpark needs to be done properly either in cement or finely crushed stone schist and rammed down firmly... Any surface may be quickly damaged by water and the holes need to be filled in quickly for repairs otherwise the potholes just get bigger within a few days. Many of the streets had sustained surface damage and looked a little bit rough. I used to do road mending for a short while and I know it's an ongoing expense which has to be allowed for financially by someone in authority otherwise it just all fall apart at the seams. ;-)

Does anyone know what they have planned for the old rail connection between Manila and Legaspi city? If they are not going to improve it then perhaps it could be turned into a one-way road to help ease the flow of traffic on the highway, just a thought!. I once had a trip on the train and I cannot remember been impressed by our slow speed, but it was a change from going by road. I had tired of the journey after a few trips by bus back & forth, zig-zagging around large crater-like holes made by water erosion underneath, thereby undermining the concrete which had concaved and those collapsed areas were large enough to prevent any vehicle driving very fast around them, but we did or should I say the bus driver followed behind another in front so closly that my own foot kept stabbing on an imaginary brake-pedal, I was afraid to close my eyes in case that I might never wake up again. I always fly the route now and it's so much quicker by air, a cup of coffee and a bun and no sooner has the cabin crew collected the discarded materials and it's seat-belt time again to prepare for landing. The trip perhaps only lasts less than a hour which is much more comfortable than the ten hours or more by bus. I was wondering if the highway has been fixed properly as it was many years ago since I last did the trip by road.
