Mission-Vision Statement

GoBicol.com Forum is dedicated to a lively, healthy, pleasant, and friendly discussion. We offer you a place where bicolanos can share knowledge, ideas, and opinion in respected manner – whether they agree or not with one another.

At GoBicol, we strive to be the best and richest source of information from our own Bicol region and our kababayans working abroad on the internet. At the same time, we also envision to build a community where members can responsibly express their opinions on other aspects of life.

The website of my former church has the following statistics:

Souls Won

Monday, 14 January 2008

Bohol: 318, 019
Siquijor: 17, 840
Negros: 117, 077
Cebu: 493, 887
____________________________

Nagtataka lang ako how this was computed. If this were true, then the missions of this particular church has already "ensured" the salvation of 1/6th of the population of Region VII (based on NSCB data with projections). That's about 15%.

I wonder if this is indeed plausible, seeing the seething idolatry that continues in the area. Note also that this is a single group of churches: if we add the efforts of other evangelical churches, the figure should be over the 1 million mark. How come this doesn't make a dent in the prevalent practices in the area?

Cebu, for example, has an estimated population of about 4 million. If 1/8th of the population of the province has been "saved," how come there are only a few churches that have attendances over 300 in any given Sunday?

What is most likely, as I see it, is that this church counts as "souls won" flimsy "professions of faith" and probably recounts people who transferred membership (despite having responded to the gospel in other churches). Undoubtedly, most of the figures posted include false professions, professions of convenience, and other miscalculated data. It disregards the "fallout rate" (cf. 1 John 2:19) as well.

How I wish the statistics given were true -but they're not. I hope some churches would not be so quick in coming up with impressive numbers.

ang katotohanan lang ang gusto natin dito and i will not be compromiser to anyone of you.

If Jesus came to your house
To spend some time with you,
If He came unexpected,
I wonder what you'd do.

Oh, I know you'd give your nicest room
To such an honored guest
And all the food you'd give to Him
Would be the very best.

And you would keep assuring Him
You're glad to have Him there--
That serving Him in your home
Is joy beyond compare.

But when you saw Him coming,
Would you meet Him at the door
With arms outstretched in welcome
To your heavenly visitor?

Or would you have to change your clothes
Before you let Him in
Or hide some magazines
And put the Bible where they'd been

Would you hide your worldly music
and put some hymn books out?
Could you let Jesus walk right
in, or would you rush about?

And I wonder - if the Saviour
spent a day or two with you,
Would you go right on doing, the
things you always do?

Would you go right on saying, the
things you always say?
Or would life for you continue
as it does from day to day?

Would you take Jesus with you
everywhere you go?
Or would you maybe change your
plans for just a day or so?

Would you be glad to have Him
meet your closest friends?
Or would you hope they stay away,
until His visit ends?

Would you be glad to have Him
stay forever on and on?
Or would you sigh with great
relief when He at last was gone?

It might be interesting to know,
the things that you would do,
If Jesus came in person, to spend
some time with you.

The true Christian "Holy War" begins.

the battle between God and Satan.

the battle between light and darkness.

the war on spiritual and physical powers.

between Christians and cults (Religious Cults, unrepentant unbelievers, atheist and satanism).

of the old and new times of revolution of war.

to destroy the old nature of a sinner and to bring to Christ's kingdom, at all cost.

that all faithful christians sacrifice everything for God sake.

Satan and the devil will fall and the kingdom of darkness on earth with him.

the punishment and curse to them that hate the truth and continue in the wicked life of immorality.

Christians (Believers of Jesus Christ) must now be decieve by worldy things and not to be world compromiser but stand firm my brother and sisters in Christ.

Do not let any wrong criticism and temptation pull you down.

No Traitor, coward and double minded man in God's kingdom.

We are the "Soldier of God" to bring the GOSPEL to everyone. (Esp. To all Filipino and Ofw)

The victory is at hand, and the journey will end; we will enter the promise land (Heaven- Paradise) and riegn with Christ forever!
