While China and Japan only focus on industrialization.

While USA controls dollar exchange rate or currency.

The Philippines has a different form of Government than the 3 countries mentioned. PHILIPPINES - Democratic, UNITED STATES - Federal Republic, JAPAN - Constitutional Monarchy, CHINA - Communist Dictatorship. Adding to the fact that the Philippines has an immature political system. But we are not the only one talking about the poverty and corruption in our country, other nations were talking about us too. In fact, the Philippines were listed as the MOST CORRUPT COUNTRY IN ASIA - http://www.asianoffbeat.com/default.asp?Display=844

Here are some famous quotes about "DEMOCRACY". Do we have great and intelligent Filipino Authors who have rational thinking other than complaining about poverty? Pinoy politicians were great in drafting resolutions but keep them half on the shelf rather than effectively implementing them.

Thomas Jefferson said, "A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine."

Thomas Jefferson, March 11, 1790: "The republican is the only form of government which is not eternally at open or secret war
with the rights of mankind."

Alexander Hamilton, in debate, said: "Real liberty is neither found in despotism or the extremes of democracy, but in moderate government."

John Adams, in a letter to John Taylor, wrote: "Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide."

James Madison said: "...democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security, or the rights of property; and have in general been as short
in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths."

We have a Democratic form of Government and we consider the Philippines as a free country, and too much freedom gives us the right to talk about
corruption, poverty, crimes, unemployment and over-population. Because we Filipinos are so called "freedom fighters" and values our rights so much.

We talk about these things because these are happening in our country - these are our current events!

Ano ba ang Priamble (o "Panimula" sa wikang tagalog)?: - Preamble is an introductory statement or preliminary explanation "introduction of a subject" as to the purpose of the document. and the principles being its philosohpy.

Constitution of Biak-na-Bato (1897)
The republic had a constitution drafted by Isabelo Artacho and Félix Ferrer and based on the first Cuban Constitution originally written in and promulgated in the Spanish and Tagalog languages.

The Preamble reads:

“ "Nosotros los Representantes del Pueblo Filipino, convocados legítimamente para establecer la justicia, proveer a la defensa común, promover el bien general y asegurar los beneficios de la libertad, implorando el auxilió del Soberano Legislador del Universo para alcanzar estos fines, hemos votado, decretado y sancionado la siguiente" ”

(We, the Representatives of the Filipino people, lawfully covened, in order to establish justice, provide for common defense, promote the general welfare, and insure the benefits of liberty, imploring the aid of the Sovereign Legislator of the Universe for the attainment of these ends, have voted, decreed, and sanctioned the following)

The 1935 Constitution
The Philippines was a United States Territory from December 10, 1898 to March 24, 1934. As such, the Philippines was under the jurisdiction of the federal government of the United States during this period. The constitution was written with an eye to meeting the approval of the United States Government as well, so
as to ensure that the U.S. would live up to its promise to grant the Philippines independence
.

The Preamble reads:

“ "The Filipino people, imploring the aid of Divine Providence, in order to establish a government that shall embody their ideals, conserve and develop the patrimony of the nation, promote the general welfare, and secure to themselves and their posterity the blessings of independence under a regime of justice, liberty, and democracy, do ordain and promulgate this constitution." ”

Preamble of the 1987 Constitution
The Preamble reads:

“ We, the sovereign Filipino people, imploring the aid of Almighty God, in order to build a just and humane society, and establish a Government that shall embody our ideals and aspirations, promote the common good, conserve and develop our patrimony, and secure to ourselves and our posterity, the blessings of independence and democracy under the rule of law and a regime of truth, justice, freedom, love, equality, and peace, do ordain and promulgate this Constitution.

Napansin mo ba na nasa 1935 constitution na ang sinasabi ni Manoy Bio na Dinagdag ng Pinas? sabi sa History "The constitution was written with an eye to meeting the approval of the United States Government as well....." naniniwala ka ba dito?

And in your title, "God of the same Time! Lawyers, doctors and priests", from my point of view, what is common among them (lawyers, doctors, priests) is TIME, not GOD. Think about it for a while, and tell me what you think.

Good work, Nuy Gardo, and good analysis. But we differ in a couple of things. Pading Rod, Kabar Art, maiba kamo?

Here are the two differences:

Primero, magkaiba an hiling ta sa PREAMBLE.

My biopoint is that the PREAMBLE of any Constitution is its most important part, not JUST an introduction to its contents. To me, the PREAMBLE, is the VISION and the MISSION STATEMENT combined of the government that is framed by that Constitution. All the provisions, amendments, etc... of that Constitution are all geared toward the achievement of the MISSION and the realization of the VISION, in much the same way that a business or any organization has all its goals, objectives, strategies, directed to its main core,___ the VISION, and MISSION STATEMENT.

The PREAMBLE, to me, is much like a car engine, the part to which all the other systems, starting, electrical, charging, braking, transmission, lubrication, cooling, HVAC, steering, etc... are directly or indirectly connected to. And it is where all the power come from, after starting.

Well, things are not always what they seem. My apologies.

The second difference of opinion, next time.

BTW. Satong tulo sana ini, Nuy Gardo buda TOLHITS: Anong pambalugo ang paborito ngunyan kan manga parukyano nindo ta mahalon na baga an niyog ngunyan dahil sa sunod-sunod na bagyo?

MABALOS!

What's in a definition?

English definition of SALVAGE:

1
a : compensation paid for saving a ship or its cargo from the perils of the sea or for the lives and property rescued in a wreck
b : the act of saving or rescuing a ship or its cargo
c : the act of saving or rescuing property in danger (as from fire)
2
a : property saved from destruction in a calamity (as a wreck or fire)
b : something extracted (as from rubbish) as valuable or useful

Filipino definition of SALVAGE: v. to kill or assassinate

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Maestra: Juan, define POSTERITY.

Kagaw-kagaw baga si Juan.

Good eye, Nuy Jeric, and good point. And the point that I see, is this:

No one, not even the lexicographer, has a monopoly on a word's or a collection of words' MEANING, no more than an artist (painter, sculptor, writer, poet, etc...) has a monopoly on the meaning of what he/she creates. A gory scene in a section of an ancient Roman amphitheater as depicted by Juan Luna in his masterpiece, SPOLIARIUM, has meant and still mean differently to different viewers. The MONA LISA has meant more than just "the lady with a mystic smile" to a lot of people. We are no different.

If there is one book I would wish that one should read and ask what the book means to her/him, that book would be, VIKTOR E. FRANKL's "MAN'S SEARCH FOR MEANING", or for somebody who has read it, tell us what the book meant or means to you.

The word SALVAGE as meant by Pinoys now, has been used in the same context by the Romans persecuting the Christians, the Christians persecuting non-Christians and fellow Christians alike, the Nazis persecuting the Jews and other minorities, the Soviets persecuting fellow Soviets, etc......... That word though is old and not politically correct anymore. The new word to mean the same processes of extra judicial activities is RENDITION, and for some underworld and organized crime organizations, it is LIE DOWN.

And that brings me to a phrase in the PREAMBLE of the PHILIPPINE CONSTITUTION which sets it apart from the Preambles of say, US, SPAIN, MEXICO, CUBA or even JAPAN and SOUTH KOREA. And that phrase is:

"IMPLORING THE AID OF ALMIGHTY GOD".

What did the delegates mean when they inserted that phrase in the CONSTITUTION?

That is my second point from my previous posting. MABALOS TABI.
