Marhay na banggi ulit saindo. Ki rocky saka ki duane, salamat na marhay sa mga responses. I tabulated here the words that you guys posted, with comparisons between Naga and Virac words. See for yourself if I did it correctly.

Virac Naga

baguλ bagul (fr. duane)

kaλa•yo kala•yo (fr. rocky)

da•λan da•lan (fr. rocky)

dikλom diklom (fr. rocky)

haλayoч harayoч (fr. rocky)

haλoŋ haroŋ (fr. rocky)

uλaλo uraro (fr. duane)

uλiч uliч (fr. rocky)

Here are the words I have previous to your posts:

Virac Naga

a•daλ adal

aλsom alsom

bakaλ bakal

daλa dara

daλa•gan dalagan

guλanчo guraчno

haλaŋkaw halaŋkaw

haλat halat

ι•waλ iwal

laλa•kι lala•ki

λakaw lakaw

saλoч saroч

taλam taram

tuλo tulo

By way of explanation for the weird symbols that I used personally, the dots after the vowels indicate that they are to be pronounced long, the “ŋ” is the digraph “ng” which actually represents one sound and not an "n" followed by a "g" (n+g), the “ч” is the glottal catch or stop, and lastly, the “λ” is that unique sound from Catanduances which, as far as I know, is not possessed by any Philippine language or dialect. This sound though is found in some related Austronesian languages in Taiwan. I am doing a research to check if they occur in the same words and positions. Any other words you may contribute will be most welcome: the more the better. Salamat ulit, dyos mabalos.

this is getting deeper and really amazing, sabi ngane ni Lola Felice at the very start of this thread. Ms. Gayonon Recca, I think an bibisaron dyan sa ligao, oas, polangui - classified gayud yan na Bikol Iraya ( can any one help us on this???) tapos ang Bicol Legaspi, Naga, Tabaco, Bacon (Sorsogon) amo gayud yan ang Bikol opisyal (centro), though there is still a distinct difference between Naga and Legaspi Bikol.

To Rocky rocks - Baba ( kin indi ako nasasala ) roots from Arabic (not ali baba)... "yah baba" ... meaning padangat (literally naka lambing) o baba as in papa. (history will reveal na an pilipinas was a muslim nation... at least part of it.... and there were muslim traders who went up north, hanggang manila... kaya na adopt seguro natin ang ibang words na arabic-based.

however, kun su baba is nearly pronounced as bu'bo (with strong accent sa o, superlative iyan ki bu.... private part ng female... sa bicol...) i am not sure kaya halaton ta an ibang miembro na may aram ka ini and maka clarify and explain further, ta ako gusto ko man ma-araman tabi.

yan tabi ang beauty san Bikol/Bicol vernacular. Adi sana ngane spelling san Bicol/Bikol...is a would-be extensive subject to discuss.

"Ulok" sa Guinobatan and Libago and I think sa Oas, Polangui areas, is crab from fresh waters (but usually su saraday na klase, hence iguang dish na pig apod na "ino-lokan" na na mention ko ngane sa saro sa erestoryahan.) ayo gayud librong bicol/bikol words (compilation) dyan sa Albay library. I remember Dr. Merito Espinas, was doing a research on the history of Ibalon, Bicol songs, etc. Ba-ad, nag ka igua man siyang research on Bicol words..... would be a good find. Ms. Gayonon Recca's tongue is, in fact, paves the way for us to go deeper nga'/nyanga kadakol nin inter-weaving words an saton/satuyang tataramon.

@manoy green, tama ka tabi, the photo is multi-faceted.... one of which is sadness.
