Ay Kumusta! Si Amber ako , new 'ko dito ...,

I was wondering if anyone would maybe be interested in helping me re-learn Tagalog and or Bicol maybe?, kasi, hindi ko alaman na...and I bet my grammar is WAY off too, you see, I haven't lived in the Philippines in a long time, and so I've never used it, and I just gradually forgot the language [even my Taglish is bad haha], plus, my mom doesn't know how to teach me...or even wants to, and I really want to learn it again!

salamat po !

Hi Ambz...

I hope you are for real.. I mean really don't know how to speak Bicol and Tagalog. Three of us are Napeke here thinking we are talking to a puti (American Girl)... heheh

Read along.. you will get it... :-)

I'm for real , and I really want to speak it, I hardly talk to my family in the 'pines and i feel that know the language again would bring me closer to them in relationship. I've also tried reading...there are sooo many words that I don't know,

occasionally I'd go to a online translator...but most of the time it doesn't give me any translation =\..

We are in the same boat Amber... in fact I don't understand the different varieties of Bicol spoken here... if you read the thread by Lola Felice (Varieties of Bicol Language) we have different dialect from across a few kilometers away.. but if you read the flow of the sentence.. you will get it... most of the time the good people here are kind enough to translate it to English.. if you don't know ask.. you will probably get different resplies from Bicolanos here.. read along its fun... :-)

Hi Amber! I think the best way for you to re-learn is to communicate with your family regularly. If you happen to meet other Pinoys/Pinays talk them in the native tongue. You won't need a tutor anymore.

"Sige na sana gayud an iringlesan ninyo kaya indi mo na napa-practice magbisara, adi?" (That's how we say it in Daraga)

"Pirmi na sana gayud kamo naga-iringlesan kaya dae mo na napa-practice magtaram, bakong iyo?" (Legaspi & 1st District of Albay and Naga)

Siguro lagi na lang ba kayong nag-iingles pag nag-uusap kayo, tama ba? (Tagalog)

I still want to give Amber the benefit of the doubt while waiting for her to show up and explain her side.

Tapos, pakaisipon nindo ini: Siisay an pigluluko nindo? Ano an benepisyo nindong makukua kun manloloko kamo? Review-ha na sa na su golden rule, mga nene'.... mga nonoy...
