For a number of years, I tended bar part time at the Officers’ Club in Governors Island, NY, at a cozy place named “The Tavern”. From there, I met a lot ofmostly nice and sometimes nasty people, listened to many stories, good and bad, sad and happy, etc, but all were thankful for the “spirits” I made and mixed for them. They gave me a lot friendly “tips” and one of those was this:
