Brillante Mendoza hit the Cannes with his Serbis. Though Quentin Tarantino and Sean Penn were impressed, some weren’t. Are you? I guess, its either jealousy or sour-graping. Anything that gets recognition due to science, arts and intellect impresses me. Those trying to get a Guiness record for “largest flag”, “longest longaniza”, “most number of couples kissing” and the likes don’t impress me at all. Just a waste of money and time.
Do you like Kris Aquino’s hosting skills? ( you have GMA, but you must have peeped into her shows.) Kris is a very articulate host although quite tactless. She’s better than Willie, I suppose.
I noticed you like Imee Marcos. Besides her class, what makes her outstanding despite the crisis the family was/is in? Imee’s appeal has not ebbed at all, probably courtesy of Belo or Calayan hahaha. My admiration is limited to her looks only although their visit to Cory’s wake was impressive.
I think Kim Clijsters will win the US women’s Open. Whose your bet? I also like Kim over the sisters. Though I also like the Russians.

the pinoy race has gone global. are our wanderings got to do with our being islanders ( sans the economic entanglements )? I don’t think it has to do with our being islanders. It has to do with necessity, survival and aspirations.
RP is ranked 12th most populous country in the world and 44th in the most dense. This means we are filling-up to the brim. There is no other way but spill out the excess.
Our very close rival in these two categories is Vietnam. As I see it, Vietnam will not be competing with us in being “global” for the reason that they are doing great domestically. Vietnam is 2nd to Thailand in rice exports. We are even importing rice from Vietnam. Vietnam is also not yet prepared to export their manpower, unlike the Philippines where people is her number one export commodity.
Aspirations also play a big role in the globalization of Pinoys. Nakakaingit yung kapit bahay na sa abroad nagtratrabaho, malaki ang bahay atkumpleto ang gamit. Kaya gusto mo rin tumulad sa kanya. Working abroad is an opium that gets you addicted either by force or default. By force because you have to maintain the lifestyle you are now used to. By default because you cannot get hired anymore in the Philippines.

itong poppy para kanino naman? Para kay JaneRed….at bakit ito ang napili mo para sa kanya? Kasi naka-ka “High” ang appeal niya.pretending na medical profession ka, ano ang mas muya mo gamiton sa paa mo crocs (color) or rubber shoes (brand) and why? In reply to the question, rubber shoes, kasi safe. May nabasa ako, bakong safe footwear ang crocs, althoughI can’t attest, kasi hindi pa ako nakagamit nito. Saka, gulpihun na ang imitation na crocs, gari manaro na sana.
As a personal reply, none of the above, kasi hindi ako mahilig sa rubber shoes (pwera kungmag walk/jog/basketball). I prefer soft leather (e.g. mocassin) as casual footwear.

D) Pang remate mong opinyun tungkol sa sports kung anu dapat na an satung pag-concentrateán sa sports, arug kan takraw, soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, dagdagan mo na sana tabe….. Sports na bagay sa saradit na tawo. takraw, soccer, beach volleyball, cyling, track field (long distance saka endurance race). Ang problema, wara kitang scouting o maghanap sa probinsiya kung sisay ang may potential sa sports na ini, lalo sa track field.
