    Below is a forwarded e-mail from a friend…
Take it or leave it share ko lang ………(di ko lang sure kong papasa ito sa panlasa ni MOD)
” Para sa buhok na parang nirebond….
Sa mga gumagamit ng shampoo basahin nyo ito…
ei guys… alam nyo ba yung shampoo and conditioner na SUNSILK SUMMERFRESH?.. One of the ingredients of it is the “Formaldehyde” which iscommonly called “Formalin”
    – Yes, yung ginagamit pang embalsamo ng dead people..(See for yourself if you doubt about it)
I also searched to the internet “What is Formaldehyde?” and here aresome definitions of it:
A chemical used in manufacturing and chemical industries, and as apreservative by anatomists, embalmers, and pathologists. Beingexposed to formaldehyde may increase the risk of developing leukemiaand brain cancer. http://www.stjude.org/glossary
is a colorless, strong-smelling gas. It is widely used in householdproducts, such as glue, wood products, permanent press fabrics, flooring, cabinets, and furniture.http://enviromysteries.thinkport.org/breakingthemold/resources/glossary.shtml
I did a little digging and found this tidbit from Wikipedia:
In the body, formaldehyde can cause proteins to irreversibly bind toDNA. Laboratory animals exposed to large doses of inhaledformaldehyde over their lifetimes have developed more cancers of thenose and throat than are usual”
Although not common as a primary ingredient, formaldehyde is presentas a contaminant in many consumer household products. It is anextremely potent carcinogen and respiratory irritant and may appearas a preservative. Products containing this chemical should beconsidered unacceptable. http://www.seventhgeneration.com/site/pp.asp
Hindi lang naman SUMMER FRESH ng SUNSILK ang may ingredients naFormaldehyde, yung SUNSILK Repair din nila na shampoo meron din.Personally, alarming sya dahil Formalin is not really good for ourhealth. Though maganda nga hair natin, but still.. in long run.. ifwe keep using shampoo / conditioner na may content na Formaldehyde, bka preserve na ang body natin even if we are still alive. What’sthe use of the good looking hair, if our health is at risk..
This e-mail is not for making bad impression to Sunsilkshampoo/conditioner. I just want to share my opinion regarding thisalarming discovery. It’s up to you if you would care to think /reflect about it or not.
Disclaimer:I have nothing against the SUNSILK SHAMPOO, its just that.. so far,sa Sunsilk ko lang kasi nakita ang Formaldehyde na content.
I checked the bottle of Sunsilk shampoo in the bathroom and it istrue — Formaldehyde is listed among the ingredients. I checked thebottle of Johnson’s Kids shampoo and there was NO Formaldehyde amongthe ingredients. I also checked the bottle of Body Shop’s GingerAnti-Dandruff Shampoo and Formaldehyde was NOT among the ingredients.
Walang ligtas dava.
