I hope that this unintentional ‘awkward situation” that the POPE suddenly put himself into would turn out to be a Blessing in Disguise.GODworks in mysterious ways, HE will always find a way to find a solution for everything, including lasting PEACE for everyone regardless of religion.
I just wish that the Media and those other parties will not take advantage of this situation to create further problem to the world.

i think its about time for the moslemcommunity to reflect whats really going on. Somehow someone would be brave enough to represent their religionand start talking about peace talk, denounce theextremist, accept thier crimes, or something… so far i dont see any.
(if im a moslem i will)
    PEACE

Since the Pope expressed his apollogy already, we consider this discussion finished then. Mala ta may nag ispay pa palan dumanke Pope Benedictsa Castel Gandalf. May nagsusubaybay palan saiya na hali sa ibang grupo.
Let me just summarized what I have learned some months ago:According to history, this jihadi movement already happened centuries ago when Moslems were trying to spread Islam all over Europe and Asia. To avert spread Crusaders were formed from various countries. Israel was under Moslem rule already and the Crusaders took over Israel leaving behind dead moslems And they chased them realy bad. The Crusaders built fortress like castles during those long yearsof invasion and this still remains in Syria. Crusaders also reclaimed Cordova Spain from Moslems where it has the largest mosque in the world at that time. In other words, Catholics or Christians did some ethnic cleansing of some sort. That is something we cant just do today. (This will give us a new topic then. Not now).
Involved in the killing also wer Mongols, they finished up and went from country to country slauthering including the children. But there wassome kind of miracle the Moslems can be proud of: at some point they stoped, and those same Mongol warriors converted to Islam. Some story the historian did not elaborate. The thing with The Gods is: all religeons are given some equal miracles or mysterious incidences to bolster faiths. Thats the situation with The Gods (Allah, Buddha, Jesus, Jehovah, etc…..) is that all oftheir beleiversdeserves something. Its up to us now.

who are these muslims kidding? they have the arrogance to ask for an apology from a leader who quoted something from history and they got it. what more do they want??!! and besides, what are they ranting about?? do they come to the world with clean hands? i’m not sure!!!
let’s not even talk about freedom of expression that even the catholic church’s leader is also inherently entitled to. let’s not even talk about the fact that these people can say whatever they want, bomb whoever they want and shoot even the most innocent of christians from mindanao to afghanistan. let’s not even go there my friends!!!i can’t even believe how they treat us non-believers in their faith as THE ENEMYand whose society they have been too keen to convert to their islamic state without them even wondering if we want to be like them. Let’s not even talk about the brutality they inflict on us that they are too enthusiastic to show to the world how we are beheaded like dogs that don’t deserve to live just because we don’t believe in their jihad. let’s not even go there!!!
let’s just talk about what they want, inculding their ill fantasy to make the pope kneel to a senior cleric and beg for forgiveness as reported by an england newspaper.
they are mad because the pope quoted from an old scholar who called them violent and their prophet brought nothing but evil. okay, they have the right to be mad because it’s an insult-for them. but what did they prove when they started burning efigies of the pope, killed an innocent nun and threatened to raid the vatican? is that proof that the old scholars were wrong? does that negate what the pope quoted? does that make them non-violent?
    i think not!!!

I’ve been in the Middle East long enough to know what kind of mentality they have. They’re very sensitive when it comes to their religion issues. But Apology or not, that will not change the fact that the Pope is already a bad person in their mind.

Your question is “Should the Pope extend his apology? The answer is YES..and he already did it.
    Quoted from Pope’s statement..
“I am truly sorry for the reactions caused by a brief passage of my speech,’ the pope said from his Castel Gandolfo summer retreat in Italy. “These were quotations from a medieval text that do not express in any way my personal opinion.’
Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, which led demonstrations last week against the pope’s remarks, called the apology a “good step’ while urging the pontiff to make a further statement to clarify his personal view of Islam.
The apology is the second for the pope in two days after a statement was released yesterday through the Vatican in which the pope reiterated his respect for Islam and said he was sorry his speech had been interpreted in a way he hadn’t intended
    THERE YOU GO…

Before we continue with our discussion, pls take a moment to read a short history of Byzantine rulers and especially the mentioned character Manuel Palaiologos II. Why mention him in his speach? Also those who watched Lord Of The Rings, some names were derived from those long historical places. So if you think the “precious precious precious”thingsGolum isrefering tois no other than a___________ , then you heard the wrong guess. Time to upgrade and teach those kids.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manuel_II_Palaiologoshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope_Benedict_XVI

With respect to our Moslem brothers, who in fact regard Jesus as an equal to thier greatMohamed, they too are tired of the animosities being brought upon by the so called”religious wars”.Indeed, itis true that “hardliners”exist not only in Moslems and Christians but to all religions as well. But this not the point in time where in we will be competing between our brothers in sisters. This is the time to patch things up and to share love and understanding. This is the right moment in which we are called for to be united in order to achieve World Peace.Let us not add fire to the monstrous Hell that we are already experiencing right at this very moment.Let us not think of only of our selves, our beliefs and our idiologies. After all,the world,is a gift not only to Christians,Moslems,Hindus,Jews,Taoist,Buddhist and all other believers of Peace,Love and Unity..The World is so scarred and beaten up and already crying for mercy..Do your share now,as in now..
    WEARE NOT BENCHWARMERS AFTER ALL….
